Any Bear that chooses to be listed or referred to The OCM Foundation as adoptable can be adopted by one or more families/individuals until that Bear’s needs are met. The duration of adoption is dependent upon the adopting families/individual. Adoption time-frame can be a one-time support or for the duration of the semester. Once a Bear is adopted, it will be the sole discretion of the Bear as to whether they wish to remain anonymous or disclose their identity to the adopting families/individuals.
For adopting families/individuals who are non-locals and do not have access to HEB grocery gift cards, funding for food can be donated directly to The OCM Foundation to facilitate the purchase on your behalf. In many cases, the OCM Foundation has direct access to the student's Baylor account and can facilitate via electronic transfer any monetary donation to be applied solely for dining dollar deposits which will enable students to enjoy a hot meal while on campus. (Please kindly indicate the Bear you wish to donate directly to when making your monetary donation and its application). Any funding applied towards dining dollars remains on the student's account until depleted through use or until the student exits the university.
Adopting families/individuals may send items to the adopted Bear at their convenience at anytime during each semester. Bears wishing to remain anonymous, care packages can be sent directly to the foundation for delivery by our staff to the student (Please indicate which Bear the package is intended for). Packages are opened for inspection for record-keeping purposes.
Once a Bear is selected for adoption, information concerning shipment of items will be forwarded to the adopting families/individuals. Items ordered through Amazon, please kindly alert the foundation via email of an incoming parcel due to Amazon gift notes typically do not provide enough information to properly thank a donor.
The OCM Foundation will serve as a bridge between adopting families and Bears wishing to remain anonymous.
A NOTE ABOUT BEARS MARKED AS ADOPTED or LISTED AS SEEKING ADOPTION
Students with limited or no meal plan in place are in continual need of financial support for dining dollars deposits. Any amount of funding is welcomed. We must feed the body to fuel the mind.
Donors can specify a specific student or mark their donation as "Any Bear". The current list of students for adoption is not inclusive of the 90+ Bears the foundation supports on a continual basis for the provision of supplemental food funding which is supported through fundraisers, products and services provided by On Campus Mom, LLC , our Amazon Wish List as well as monetary donations.
